Gangbal Twin Lakes Trek

Srinagar – Naranag – Dumail (3 hrs drive, 2 hrs walk)

 After breakfast, check out from the houseboat and drive towards Naranag village, which is the base point of the Gangbal Twin Lakes Trek. After reaching Naranag, you can take a 3-hour trek to Dumail. Overnight stay in tents. Naranag is also famous for the Wangath Temple Complex, which is around 1200 years old. It is made up of big stones and is believed to have been built by the Pandavas.

Naranag – Trundkol Campsite

 Wake up early in the morning, freshen up, have breakfast, pack your bags, and start the trek towards Trundkol campsite via Badshah Meadows. This is a hard trek, so you have to go up slowly. You will walk through big pine trees. After reaching the top of the mountain, you can take a little break and have chai or Maggi there. After the top, you have to walk straight but be careful on the right side, as there is a deep gorge. Overnight stay at Trundkol campsite.

Trundkol – Nundkol Campsite 

After breakfast, pack your bags and continue your trek towards Gangbal Lake. On this day, you don’t need to take lunch with you because you will get hot lunch at the Gangbal campsite. You will reach there by noon. The trail goes through beautiful grassy fields. After reaching the Gangbal campsite, overnight stay there.

Explore Both Lakes

 This day is for exploring both lakes: Gangbal Lake and Nundkol Lake. Both lakes are situated under the foothills of Harmukh Mountain. These lakes are also home to many fish species such as Brown Trout and Rainbow Trout.

Gangbal – Naranag – Srinagar 

This will be the last day of your trek. Wake up early in the morning, pack your backpacks, and start descending towards Naranag through the Trundkol meadows. You must walk carefully and slowly because the trail is rocky and slippery. After reaching Naranag village, a cab will pick you up and take you to your hotel in Srinagar for an overnight stay
