Your journey begins from Srinagar, where our team will receive you at the airport or bus stand. From here, we drive towards the lush countryside of Shopian, known for its endless apple orchards and saffron fields. The scenic road slowly climbs into the Pir Panjal region and brings us to the beautiful base location of Aharbal. Aharbal to Kungwattan (Trek Begins)
Today marks the beginning of the trek. The trail gradually leaves behind the forested ridges and climbs through wild meadows and shepherd routes. After about three hours of walking, we reach Kungwattan a vast green meadow that feels untouched by time.This place is a summer grazing ground for local shepherds, dotted with wooden log huts and surrounded by dense forests. Kungwattan to Kounsarnag Lake
We start early today to make the most of the journey. The trail ascends gradually through alpine terrain, offering expanding views of the Pir Panjal mountains. After roughly five hours of trekking, we finally arrive at the breathtaking Kounsarnag Lake.This highaltitude alpine lake is known for its unique triangular shape and crystal-clear waters. Surrounded by rugged peaks and silence, the lake has a mystical charm that instantly connects you with nature. Photographers and nature lovers will find endless perspectives here. This day is reserved for exploration and relaxation. You can take slow walks around the lake, capture reflections of the mountains in its still waters, or simply sit quietly and soak in the peaceful atmosphere.Many trekkers consider this the highlight of the journey a day where time slows down and nature takes over. Kounsarnag Lake to Kungwattan
After breakfast, we begin our descent back towards Kungwattan. Walking downhill feels easier and gives a chance to enjoy landscapes you might have missed earlier.As we reach Kungwattan again, the familiar meadows and shepherd settlements welcome us back. The sound of the Vaishau River flowing through the valley adds a soothing touch to the evening. Overnight camping in Kungwattan.
Kungwattan to Aharbal
We pack up early and trek back towards Aharbal, which usually takes around two hours. On arrival, you can relax near the waterfall, enjoy lunch with a scenic backdrop, and reflect on the journey.Later, we drive back to Srinagar the same day, marking the end of a memorable alpine trekking experience
